Ginger

Ginger has a mild, pleasant aromatic smell and - especially at higher doses - a characteristic, spicy, slightly sweet flavor, which is based on the content of essential oils. Fresh ginger is cut after peeling, chopped, grated or crushed and added to vegetable dishes. Rice dishes, meat, poultry, fish, salads and pastries received with a savory ginger spice.

 

The Plant

Ginger are bulbous branched rhizomes, the rhizomes, which can be up to 20 cm long and have a diameter of about 3 cm. They provide us with the characteristic spiciness. The root is tuberous branching, outside brownish, inside yellow and slightly fibrous.
